Food Bank of the Golden Crescent Thank You, 5. Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. GATHIR Food Bank The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent (FBGC) is excited to announce a $2 Million contribution from Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. (Formosa) to assist with vital food assistance by providing 6 million meals during the COVID-19 pandemic. "As the Food Bank continues to respond to the heightened need for food assistance caused by COVID19 in our eleven county service area, we are extremely grateful for the support of Formosa Plastics Corporations, U.S.A. and their generosity. This critical funding will provide 6 million meals for those facing food insecurity in Calhoun, Jackson, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, and Wharton counties," said Robin Cadle, President/CEO. "Formosa Plastics is clearly committed to community involvement and giving back to help with long-term recovery in communities impacted by this pandemic, and the food bank is honored to partner with them." Angela Hartmann, FBGC Board Chair, shared that "Formosa's donation is a shining example of the company's community support, especially in these extraordinary times. It's a leading example of how all organizations and people need to come together to support each other. The donation will impact thousands of individuals in need." Despite these challenges, FBGC has stayed open, healthy, and safe. Operations have not only continued uninterrupted but have expanded with the increased need while maintaining social distancing and public health protocols as we continue with our mission of "helping heal the hurt of hunger." Year-round, the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent works with more than 88 partner agencies to provide food assistance to those who are facing hunger.
