202 Ofood, Bankee Focusing Future We are pleased to announce the kick off of our 2020 Focusing on the Future campaign. This is an Expansion/ Renovation project for the Food Bank's newly acquired building located at 801 S. Laurent St. This 38,000 square foot building on 7.2 acres will double our warchouse capacity, triple our refrigeration and allow us to increase services to those we serve. Expanding and renovating our new facility will cost an estimated $5.2 million. This wonderful opportunity will afford us the ability to provide much needed increased services in "helping heal the hurt of hunger" through nutritious food, fresh produce, nutrition education and access to various food programs. This project will solidify our role ia tighting hunger and is urgently needed by our constituents to better meet the demand of food insecure individuals in our eleven county service area. Relocating to 801 S. Laurent will enable us to: Increase our capacity to feed more children and seniors through our hunger relief programs, currently reported - child hunger ranges from 21 to 26% in every county that we serve; Accept and distribute more nutritious, perishable foods thanks to additional refrigeration and warehouse space, thus allowing us to provide more to those facing food insecurity in our service area; Increase nutrition education and access to additional foed programs by providing the knowledge and skills to families as they move forward. As an organization, we are committed to being a solution for the systemie change required for society's greater good, and this project will enable us to do this with more boldness, effectiveness, efliciency, passion and drive. I hope you'l join us in helping to create a BOLD future! Our communities have been most generous in their continued support of the Food Bank and our mission of "helping heal the hurt of hunger" and we look forward to this next chapter of serving our eleven county service area. I remain grateful for your support and partnership of the Food Bank. Sincerely. Robin Cadle, MBA President CEO ÜFood Bank f the Golden Crescent 361-578-0591 tfbgc.org 3809 E.
